Description
These packs are made with remnants of the raw, untabbed, square braided wicks you know and love but with a twist: each pack will include various lengths of wick of the same size from combined from random batches and various production cycles. They may be cut to any and all lengths and may not be uniform in color due to seasonal variation in raw materials. For example: if you select #6/0 wick, the entire package will contain clippings of #6/0 wick from a number of different production runs cut to various lengths.
Most wicks included in each pack will be at least several yards long and can be cut to any size you wish to accommodate your projects. There is nothing functionally wrong with this wick. It just didn't make the cut (literally - it was too short!) to be included in our retail packaged raw square braid packaged wick lineup.
Our production process is very efficient. As such, we normally will not have many of these packs in stock. Not the prettiest presentation overall, but at these discounted prices who cares? Get them before they're gone!

About Square Braid Wicks
Square braid wicks were designed for the viscosity of beeswax candles but they can still be used with soy, paraffin and vegetable waxes too. Our wicks are raw, untabbed, and lead-free.
Instructions
Before use, soak the wick in molten wax of your choice. This process prepares your wick for use in candle making. Soak in molten wax until bubbles stop rising to the surface. Results may vary. Experimenting is strongly recommended.
The first burn of a candle is important in setting the pace for how the candle will burn every other time that it's lit. When you light your candle for the very first time, make sure that it burns long enough to melt the wax all the way to the outer edge. This may take several hours. The general rule of thumb is to let the candle burn for approximately an hour per every inch of diameter. It's also important to not overtrim the wick length every time the candle is lit. A wick that's trimmed too short will not allow the candle to burn hot enough and may cause tunneling. A wick that is not trimmed far enough could cause the candle to burn too hot and may cause smoking.
